Offsite Programs

Creative Connections
Enriching Your Life, Right Where You Are.

Reston Community Center brings programming directly to you. We offer Reston residents and employees opportunities to explore unique, inspirational experiences without having to travel to RCC facilities.

Business owners and residential property managers benefit by hosting or providing these opportunities for social engagement while contributing to Reston’s sense of community. Our programs offer social gatherings with a creative twist. Whether these workshops are held in a residential complex or at a business site, participants will enjoy a leisure-time pursuit that results in immediate and long-lasting reward.

Workshops

From handlettering and paint nights, to simple woodworking and gardening projects, these hands-on activities bring satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment with a completed piece to take home.

Benefits

For participants:

  • Experiences: Work with accomplished artisans and creative experts to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Connections: Network and make friends.
  • Creations: Imagine, design and develop your own unique project to enjoy at home or give away.

For Hosts:

  • Increase a sense of belonging.
  • Improve productivity.
  • Enhance morale and wellbeing.

How it works

What We Need from You:

Residential Sites

  • Provide onsite space appropriate for the workshop type in a 4-hour time block (includes setup/cleanup by the provider).
  • Determine if it is a private event for residents only, or if it will be open to the public.

Businesses

  • Provide onsite space appropriate for the workshop type in a 4-hour time block (includes setup/cleanup by the provider).
  • Decide if this is a public or employee only event.
  • Choose a date that will maximize the benefit and employee participation.

How to make it even better: Incentives! Consider: hospitality, discounts, giveaways.

Bringing other RCC experiences to you:

We can also schedule fitness classes and aquatic programming at your site if you have the appropriate venue. Are you interested in different kinds of team building for your employees? We are here to help create the perfect RCC experience for you!

The fine print: Don’t stress, RCC is responsible for securing the instructor, registering the students, developing all promotional materials and handling the logistics. Workshop participants typically pay the registration fee directly to RCC but we can arrange for alternatives if preferred, such as the venue or business underwriting the participation fees. A customized proposal and quote will be provided for your review.

Get In Touch!

Are you intrigued? We’d love to craft your in-house RCC experience as soon as possible. We can visit your site, tour the facility options and consult with you about the best type of workshop to provide. If longer-term offerings are desired, we are happy to work with you to meet that need as well. Whether it’s a creative skill workshop, fitness/wellbeing option, aquatic event or leisure program you’d like custom-designed for your staff or residents, we are ready to bring RCC directly to you.

Please contact RCC’s Collaboration and Outreach Director, LaTanja Jones at LaTanja.Jones@fairfaxcounty.gov or 703-390-6158; we can’t wait to get started!
